Children’s Day Celebrations – November 2021
ASHA’s group activities started in person recently. With the view of having an informal get together and some fun & enjoyment for the girls, we celebrated Children’s Day during our Saturday group on 13th November. Dr. Anupama Sen, committee member of ASHA, was the chief guest and the girls had an evening full of fun & enjoyment.
Senior social worker gave information about Children’s day to the girls – what is Children’s day, why do we celebrate the Children’s day etc. The girls introduced themselves to Dr. Sen and spoke about their dreams. Of all the great dreams shared, one girl’s aspiration that stood out was her dream to research on medicine which will prevent Coronavirus in the future!
Competitions were conducted in two groups – first group containing 5th to 8th std. girls and the second containing 9th std girls onwards. Competitions conducted included drawing, lemon and spoon race, musical chairs and folding clothes in one minute. Dr. Sen judged all the competitions, declared the winners and distributed prizes. ASHA also gave participation prize to all participants. After the prize distribution ceremony, the girls enjoyed Pav bhaji & kulfi. The program ended with vote of thanks by one of the girls.
