Build School in India (BSI) Partnership

Build a School in India (BSI) was established in 2013 to provide access to
educational opportunities in India for underserved and economically
disadvantaged students. BSI partners with nonprofit organizations that accept
students from all communities regardless of socioeconomic status. In every
situation BSI joins with donors in India to assist the success of students & schools.
At present BSI schools are educating approximately 2,500 students across 5
schools & communities. BSI supports community based learning programs for job
oriented skill development for young people and for home based income
generation activities for women.

From September 2022 BSI has partnered with ASHA to support higher education
& additional training of girls from 9th to 12th std. Under BSI project ASHA is working
to enhance the skills of girls by giving scope to their talent along with regular
education. While working with adolescent girls, ASHA realized that girls tend to
pursue education through traditional education system. But ASHA thinks that girls
can succeed in the best possible way if they pursue a career in something they are
passionate about. Considering this, currently 9th to 12th std girls are given extra
classes of spoken English, computer, drawing along with school education. ASHA
hopes that this extra training will help the girls in making career choice after 12th
std for higher education. Along with that ASHA is supporting two girls studying
mechanical engineering diploma. And we are planning to support as many girls
possible for higher education after 12th std.

BSI is a U.S. based nonprofit raising funds for ASHA. To contact BSI and make tax deductible donations from the U.S. to ASHA, please visit https://www.buildaschoolinindia.org/
